Makecchie this start was a banger! I also love the references in the surnames, all related to authors! Cupid has a lot of personality being the first chapter. I'm interested in all the characters instead of a few, so for me that's a great start.

Apparently, they didn't know each other very well so it makes me wonder if they are all in the same class but the students aren't close with each other, or that it was the whole year and it was a multiple bus accident and some of them are classmates or from different classes. Hopefully what I said makes sense www.

Right on point in the first chapter, and makes you crave for more. Especially given it's GL and the way it starts without pressing into that issue which is great.

Gotta love how you don't write Haruhi explaining things, but just gloss it over so the reader can picture the scene in their heads however they wish, I think that's a great point. For a first mystery, this was pretty relaxing and quite matter-of-factly, great way to debut the story before going to more complex cases that will require more attention from the reader to either deduce it alongside Haruhi, Tanizaki or their own.

What if, but only what-if, the way that the Fujioka player is being emphasised so much has to do with the mystery. I think the "illegal substances" route is very predictable, and Haruhi didn't seem interested at all when Kazami mentioned the bad habits. Regardless, she was pretty much into this pro alumnus. He might be using the complex but why? And those strange noises plus sudden Spanish-brand cigarettes I just think he's training with someone from one of those countries Kazami mentioned, but this is only a very crazy theory.

Kazami also sounds kinda suspicious? But I can't pinpoint exactly why.

Again, what I do like the most is that everything is already established, and settled, in the story. There is no need to over-explain, you just go with Tanizaki's flow and that's what drives the story forward. When they had that banter about that Koizumi fella it felt like regular banter you'd hear between anyone even if you don't know who are they, same with the conversation about Shouta, who might be a relevant character later on given how Haruhi knows him and Tanizaki doesn't.

Haruhi really does like to lead, going straight to the rumoured place.

The way Tanizaki offered himself to join the club broke so many clichés and that made me tremendously happy and then, in the end, he was already playing into Haruhi's palms all the time ever since the fake letter. Their banter is from the start great and their chemistry is lovely.

The fact that she's the vice-president and is literally the third wheel makes her "protagonist" aura diminish which is something I'll happily read and consume. I love it when stereotypes and archetypes are unattached and made into something new.

She is eccentric but not quirky, Tanizaki is your regular guy that got involved in all of this, regardless he seems to have good intuition and knows how to perfectly read the atmosphere as well as trowing in the towel when it comes to the Holmes-Watson relationship in order to make things go faster. He seems like a good kid so far when he offered himself instead of yeeting.

Glad to see a chapter from their point of view now. It makes you grind those gears in your mind to hypothesise what happened from their perspective instead of from Iris this time. I feel terribly sorry about all that's happening, and I truly hope it reaches a satisfying conclusion, although I doubt it given all this adrenaline rush, you never know what'll happen next!

Very unique prologue, the exposition was neatly laid out even without the use of proper dialogues. Since all of these are kinda like rumours, makes sense they are being spoken not by the same two people, but by a whole circle of friends who enjoy gossip and you don't know which statement came out of who. Quite interesting indeed.

Ikazaki is great so far, and her dialogues with Aito are fantastic. The character dynamics are vibrant and truly do come alive.

Now, this chapter is what I was craving for, character roundness. Aito isn't only ego and mass self-confidence, but full of insecurities as well, and Ikazaki was the perfect complement for this side to appear. Although I am a bit...c onfused? With what happened there at the end, all I can think of is that Aito started to daydream for something interesting, or humanity just went poof in a very rom-com postapocaliptic way.

Quite an interesting opening, Aito is very charismatic and Riku is the perfect combination for the classic manzai we all love in fiction. The first time I read it I couldn't quite get into the story, so hopefully now that there are more chapters I can give it the read it deserves.

Oh, completely my bad, I must has misunderstood when Iris held a book and mentioned something about the Age of Metal, which made sense at the moment of how everything is now machinery, but it does make much more sense as how you just explained to me for it to be in the past given how there are now no wars and fits perfectly. My bad! There is no need to fix it, I believe that the fact it's so obtuse makes it more interesting and mysterious.
