This was a nice chapter. Lotsa good learnings into the relationship dynamics of the Soma-Andronova household, all of which are very darling. Little oblivious Alice and ever-inquisitive May, what silly goobers. Love them both.
One note I'd like to make is that I think we're *sitting* with the feeling of panic in this chapter a lot more than we're exploring it. After a while it feels like there's a little bit too much of it, in no small part because of the sheer amount of body language that heralds it. I feel like understanding Ken's thought processes would be a more interesting use of the chapter space; I can appreciate it's almost self-evident why he'd be stressed about it, but understanding the direction of his thoughts would allow the reader to identify with his personality a lot more.
