Location descriptions are definitely a weak point of mine. I've been trying to keep them a bit minimal, to fit with the shot chapter word counts, but I can't blame it all on that. The biggest challenge of writing is translating the vivid images in your brain into words that others can understand in a way they find entertaining.

I do wonder if I should be more repetitive about some descriptions though. Others have said they had a hard time imagining the village, even though I described it as a large domed area with mostly farming fields and little huts housing nekomimi and machines.

As for why the gynoid chose Sprout, I tried to convey that Sprout has more stamina than the other Nekomimi (shown when she outran Apollo), and the gynoid observed that (when she ran back to the watchtower without being winded). *Why* Sprout has more stamina isn't explained. It could be that some people have more stamina than others. It could also be that she exercises more than the other villagers because she doesn't want to become lazy like them.

That cover is 100% Canva. NGL, that tends to be my default unless I really want a cover to stand out.

As for the point about the trans comment, it's a good point. My intention with the scene was more to demonstrate that the guy had lashed out in anger and insulted them without thinking, and Shizuka was just shocking him out of his anger and making him back down. It didn't make him no longer homophobic, but caused him to realize how unruly his behavior was.

But I guess I also didn't set the story in any specific year. Maybe it does take place in the future where that kind of discussion is more commonplace and the Overton window has shifted in Japan.
