Thank you for checking it out! Asebi Tzutsumi is indeed a great character, and I really admire how Ryoko Kui depicted her many catlike behaviors.
For this story though, the major theme is Sprout's struggle between her two natures: human and cat. Sprout sees herself as the only human in a village full of cats. It is easy for her to see herself as human because when she looks in the mirror, it is easy for her to hide her cat features, so she sees only the human parts.
But in addition to cat ears and tail, she has sharp teeth and retractable claws instead of fingernails and toenails.
