Holy Moly what kind of plot twist?! Completely unexpected but in the best of ways. Excellent start, you’re writing is fantastic; you’ve gained another reader in me.

One slight nitpick, if you’re looking for advice, is that the scenes describing scenery feel like it’s there for scenery sake. Hopefully what I said makes sense. If there’s a way you can make it flow more naturally in the story, then this chapter is a 10/10 for me.
