With such an obscure topic as boffer, I did not expect myself to enjoy this story as much as I did. I don’t feel like I have much thoughts about it, however I’ll try my best to write whatever I have down.
I think the first thing that I noticed about foam cores was its pacing, and that is, imo, both its greatest strength and greatest weakness. Its strength in the sense that with a slower pacing like this, I can see you’ve taken a lot of time to flesh out the characters and their interpersonal relationships, which is a huge boon as they really feel like people living out their own lives rather than just fictional characters in the story (even if the somewhat large cast made me lose track of certain characters and developments on the way). However, the almost painstakingly slow pace can be seen as the death of this story for a few, and personally I don’t think you need to try to put every aspect of the characters to make the story as good as it is. I see a lot of times when it can be stopped for an ending too, like after the first game or the first week, something along that line, but at times it just kept going that I just couldn’t see how it would end properly.
In the end, everything still works out though, so that’s a plus. Overall to me, foam cores is a good entry that if people can go past the slow burn, they’ll probably enjoy it all the way through.
