This is really cool. I don’t know if I’m interpreting it correctly, but there are a lot of layers in this particular chapter: Bryan’s seemingly out-of-nowhere lashing (but makes perfect sense when you realize he has the perfect score, which means he knew about the system and was actively questioning against it), Marie’s intervention and Darren’s inability to speak up both aim aim to keep their “norm”, and even things like Emi’s “rules are rules” answer - sometimes, even teachers just want to not deal with everything, even if they know it’s not necessarily correct.
Maybe it’s just me, maybe it’s your intention when writing GEP all along, but I can say that I actually relate to it. And either way, I think it’s great. GEP gets memed to death on Discord, but if you look past that, and even look past the surface area masked by quippy writing and seemingly harmless fun character interactions, it is an entirely serious subject that I feel should be brought out more.
