Interesting premise! I kind of wish I sort of knew more about the ways that our main character experienced the stages of grief with respect to their present condition.
I liked the little anecdote about the doves. Very meditative way to give her more texture and personality.
Yes. Wu Zetian. "Assertive" is definitely something I'd say to describe her.
I like entertaining the idea of generous MCs who have too large of a harem and allow some of their members to trickle down to less deserving members.
Not super convinced about the frame narrative but curious about some of the implications in this chapter. ^^
