Jun SERIOUSLY needs Madam Claire's help to get him to realize some important things about romance 😉 (alas, we cannot all have an Artus aide to teach us lessons. But Madam Claire will come close!!)

Jun proposing might be the biggest dumb moment I've ever written 🥲 looking back now, I both apologize for and love that moment. I wanted to get the isekai premise up and running asap so there wouldn't be a huge slow exposition in the beginning...and so...Jun got hit with the dumb stick to make things happen 🤣 it was a narrative gamble, but hopefully one that pays off!

Jun was meant to have a bigger backstory, but I realized I wouldn't have time to fit it in to the novel. So I wanted keep his family life short, but poignant. That line about the mom made me tear up while writing it 😭 and I knew I'd hit the exact emotion I wanted to convey.

Sometimes, the answer to emotions isn't logically talking things out 🤣 it's yelling really loudly!!! Ahahaa! I was hoping to give them a chance to let all those emotions out, so they can move forward ❤️

Yesss I wanted to spin the rumors and all the little details, so the proposal would look like "an elf just wanted to buy the land because it has rare elven crops" on it. And now they can sell the land for a lot 🤭 (let's just hope no real elves show up and start wondering about this bamboo thing ahaha 🤣)
If this were a longer book, I would have loved to make the Duke a bigger character! I'd like to show some of the power struggles and political structures of their world. But, I will admit, most of those ideas are getting cut for time 😢 one day though!! One day I'll put all these extra ideas into a longer novel 🤣

First villain!! And since you've read ahead, you know how this goes 🤣 Duke Elvett was so fun to write. Evil characters are some of my favorites for writing dialogue! But I knew I wanted this story to be more of a "journey of self" where the conflict would be around one's own emotions rather than a person 🤣 so alas, I shall have to save my villainous dialogue for another story!!
