I am so excited for this twist though!!! I see now why you needed Inari! Because we're taking a dip into mythology to save Nao, and this feels properly Orpheus and Eurydice vibes (though I'm rooting for the story to end on a happier note then that tale 😢)

Yeah 🤣 the first person POV does get a little fuzzy and/or omniscient at some points (as if Jun is looking back and telling this as a story of the past, from his future.) But I accepted that as a necessary break here and there. I actually haven't written a story in first person POV since...oh gosh...I was in middle school?? 😂 I'm learning as I go!

Biggest miracle of the chapter: Roki was actually able to cook something decent 🤣🤣

Yes! Working on allowing Mia to stand on her own (even if Roki were to leave.) I didn't want Roki to just buy the property and then dip, leaving Mia still in a dangerous situation. So I wanted to show a way that she could protect herself 💕 Plus now that Mia is a little more independent we can work on some other plot threads... 👀

Shishi-doink might be one of my finer moments 🎍 someday I need to double-down and write a full comedy 🤣 I have so many other bad puns and stupid ideas I can't include here because they'd totally derail the plot. But shishi-doink was one joke I couldn't give up.
