    Author's Commentary #434:

Time to talk about Chapter 434: Prussians and Russians.
It's finally time for the 8th round to start. As such, this is more of a buildup chapter to better hype things up. And naturally, it also offers a look around the venue, including a glimpse at the other teams playing. Speaking of which, let's discuss some of the new characters now.

ダイアン・アギアール (Daiane Aguiar) is how Daiane's name would be spelled in katakana.

Her birthday is February 5th, which she shares with Portuguese professional footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Her favorite piece is the king.

ビリディアナ・デリマ (Viridiana De Lima) is how Viridiana's name would be spelled in katakana.

Her birthday is October 26th, which she shares with American-British-French artist and chess player, Grace Alekhine.

Her favorite piece is the queen.

イオランダ・ロドリゲス (Iolanda Rodrigues) is how Iolanda's name would be spelled in katakana.

Her birthday is October 15th, which is the day after Be Bald and Free Day.

Her favorite piece is the queen.

Both Viridiana and Iolanda were originally part of the Brazilian team. In fact, Iolanda was the original Inori Rodrigues.

Speaking of original plans, Russia was originally going to be the final round opponent for the men's team, however, I felt it would be better to have them face off earlier. And speaking of early, I ended up writing one of the games for this round months in advance. Best of all, you won't need to wait much longer to see it, as said game will debut in the very next chapter of the story.

That's all for this commentary. I hope you enjoyed it.

    Author's Commentary #433:

Time to talk about Chapter 433: Hemorrhoid cancellation.
When I first created Francie, she was originally meant to be female Filthy Frank. Now, she's morphing into female Idubbbztv. And thus, Francie's only going to sink lower from here, but first let's talk about all the new characters.

リア・マンダギ (Ria Mandagi) is how Ria's name would be spelled in katakana.

Her birthday is September 13th, which is Bald is Beautiful Day.

Her favorite piece is the queen.

レダ・ザムルン (Reda Zamrun) is how Reda's name would be spelled in katakana.

Her birthday is November 24th, which she shares with Indonesian grandmaster, Novendra Priasmoro.

Her favorite piece is the pawn.

アユ・ゴザル (Ayu Gozal) is how Ayu's name would be spelled in katakana.

Her birthday is April 3rd, which she shares with Indonesian actress, dancer, and model, Asmara Abigail.

Her favorite piece is the queen.

カルソミー・ズベリ (Kalsoom Zuberi) is how Kalsoom's name would be spelled in katakana. کلثوم زبیری۔ (Kalsoom Zuberi) is how it would be spelled in Urdu.

Her birthday is July 5th, which is the day Sehba Shah won the Pakistan Women's Championship.

Her favorite piece is the queen.

Kalsoom is a homage to Pakistani chess player, Sehba Shah, a 60 year old woman who overcame a severe physical handicap to become Pakistan Women's Champion and represent the country at the 45th Chess Olympiad in Budapest. I was originally going to include Kalsoom in the story as just a single participant from her country before deciding to give Pakistan a full women's team.

ヒラ・ミール (Hira Mir) is how Hira's name would be written in katakana. حرا میر (Hira Mir) is how her name would be written in Urdu.

Her birthday is April 25th, which she shares with British Indian and Pakistani honorary grandmaster, Sultan Khan.

Her favorite piece is the rook.

ウズマ・オカリ (Uzma Okari) is how Uzma's name would be spelled in katakana. عظمیٰ اوکاڑی (Uzma Okari) is how it would be spelled in Urdu.

Her birthday is August 8th, which she shares with Pakistani international master, Mahmood Lodhi.

Her favorite piece is the bishop.

サイマ・バックス (Saima Bux) is how Saima's name would be spelled in katakana. صائمابکس (Saima Bux) is how her name would be spelled in Urdu.
(If I made any mistakes with the translations, feel free to correct me).

Her birthday is September 9th, which is International Beauty Day.

Her favorite piece is the queen.

Saima is a half-Finnish half-Pakistani beauty vlogger. She was born in Finland, but grew up in Pakistan.

When there's so many new characters I have to do bios on, I tend to procrastinate doing the commentaries. But the good news is that in terms of the women's teams, there's just 3 teams left that have yet to have all 5 of their members get bios. And after that, I won't need to worry about doing them anymore for these characters when they appear in later arcs of the series.

That's all for this commentary. I hope you enjoyed it.

    Chapter:433

    May 11, 2025

    Author's Commentary #432:

Time to talk about Chapter 432: Batsu for the lost bet.
Ladies and gentlemen, we all have fetishes. As such, if given the chance to create a piece of entertainment, whether it be novel, manga, game, anime, or movie, we the creators will often insert our fetishes into said works. I do this in this series multiple times. That being said, there are times where I sit back and ask myself why I decided to publish some of the smut I did. This time is one of them. Now onto Guiomar's bio.

ギオマール・フラザン (Guiomar Frazão) is how Guiomar's name would be spelled in katakana.

Her birthday is April 25th, which she shares with Portuguese grandmaster, Luís Galego.

Her favorite piece is the bishop.

So with that out of the way, let's talk about what the fuck is going on with Mifsud. And the answer is... I don't know. She was a fairly recent character addition to the series, and as such, I haven't extensively planned out her role compared to others. But the good news is, the next chapter will serve as the prelude chapter to round 8, and if you're not a fan of the smut and just want to see some good chess, I've got good news for you. Currently, the round 8 games I have written contain close to zero levels of lewdness and are high-quality. In fact, the tension will be back in full-force for this round on both men's and women's sides. As such, things will proceed much more smoothly compared to round 7. I hope you're looking forward to it.

That's all for this commentary. I hope you enjoyed it.
