Time-skip, okay I see how it is! So far the narrative is engaging and enticing. I can truly feel I am in Cain's shoes and understand from his point of view how Cielo's work and is divided, as well as its current state of affairs.
Another thing I found interesting was the fact that there is already an ongoing plot with him and Sayuri, which I'm eager to find out as I read along. The black blood was surprising, most likely has to do with what happened in the prologue. I like the peculiar relationship these two have. No awkwardness, just a simple acquaintance relationship that is a breath of fresh air. I could feel the pain as well when it came to the razor blade scene.
