Hmm... I think I understand. It's something I feel like has been lurking in the back of my mind. I mean this only started because of the monthly challenge, so I didn't have a specific goal in mind.
It's not necessarily that I lost interest so much as I lost my ideas. I had a fairly clear picture of what I wanted to do up until just before the end. Then I wanted to do some cool things with the world, but they didn't really fit.
With this ending, I wanted to kinda show that Yaleena's story was done. She's on the path to... To something. Then maybe give some hope for Ghost-Dad and Gotthard, while presenting a sort of threat so it seems like their story could be interesting.
I might try to figure out if I can do a rewrite sometime in the future for the whole story. Once I've figured out exactly what it is I want to do. A draft two essentially. Your insight has been incredibly helpful, so thanks a million.
