I borrowed some elements from Silent Hill and Lovecraftian Horror, but of course the names you mentioned certainly have their place here! Especially the atmosphere I'm trying to replicate... However, indeed, it could come as too familiar: Gray, derelict, but perfect sleeping weather! Otherwise, a big double-edged sword!
Funny thing about the clickers was that I couldn't think of anything else to call them. I thought about how names originated in those particular games. Like, typically most would make a simple name that everyone could understand without question. I'm glad you enjoyed it also. Writing can be painstaking since I tend to pick apart things. There are elements in the upcoming chapters that might throw things for a spin too. Just for the execution... I'll let ye be the judge of that! 😉
