The crunchy rice!! Noooo!! Ichika darling 🤣 I've made that mistake once in my life, when I forgot to add water to the rice, and let it just *bake* (read: burn) on the stovetop for 20 minutes. I always put the water in first now.

Papa-kun is making this meal the awkwardest of awkward and I'm here for it. He's gotta know that even if these two *were* dating, it's almost impossible for a young couple to be comfortable with parents at the table!

Also some political intrigue and world building. I'm curious to see how it all impacts Vivian, sounds like right now she's going to be stuck marrying for power 😖 But the goddess and Stat-kun might have different plans!

🤦 If viv doesn't put all her stats into becoming a Brawler when she needs to be building Socialite, that is.

I like the hints dropped in this chapter, and eagerly await the info that will come with the rest of meeting with Emmett next time! I get the feeling Selphine knows a lot about magic and this ritual of theirs. Maybe she used to be in the order herself? Or knew someone who told her these things?

Also oooh boy, I'd put a trigger warning on this chapter for the suicidal commentary. I know it's a darker story, but so far it's mostly been violence. This chapter tread a bit into trigger territory. I'd pop one in at the start of this chapter, and probably put a warning for violence/suicidal references in the story description. I know it seems silly, but it's super important for supporting mental health 😖 especially with how relatively light this story starts, a heads up for readers is just really good to be transparent! 👍

I'm so glad you showed Takashi struggling in the game, and fighting to get that goal. Sports aren't kind enough to let you win just because you've got encouragement 😭 they can be brutal, and the other team has cheerleaders too! But I'm glad Takashi eventually scored a goal, it felt really natural and so fulfilling!

I actually really like the prayer magic system though! That's so interesting and gives plenty of room for lore in addition to exploring spells! (If it's real, that is 😆)

But I'm starting to understand his form now! How he can shift himself and his physical shape. I feel like there's a lot you could do with shape-shifting-like magic like that!
