We have finally reached the true final chapter of Spice of life's original version. Thank you so much to everyone that checked this out. Feel free to check out the remake if you want, but if not, that's fine. This chapter is pretty much how the remake will end as well.
Now for some discussion on the chapter. First off, Happy birthday to Rika, Masaru, and Ryokoma.
As for Rika and Masaru's children, all of them with the exception of Waki and Yumi are named after spices. As for why one is named Waki, Rika just did it out of appreciation of her friend. As for Yumi, her birthday is the exact day I uploaded the first chapter of Spice of life here on Honeyfeed.
Now to discuss the remake properly. Originally, I rewrote Spice of life and submitted it to a contest, but since it didn't pass, I decided to upload it starting today. A part of me really did want to upload the remake so I guess things worked out. Story events will be far better paced, and characters that appeared towards the end of the story, like Nero/ Muramasa Jouzu, make their debuts in the remake much earlier. Funnily enough, Nero's debut chapter here was actually the last original chapter I wrote before initially doing the rewrite for the contest. Every chapter afterwards ended up being adapted from the rewrite into this version of the story.
Now even though I've been constantly gushing about the remake, the original Spice of life will always hold a special place in my heart. As such, I will be keeping this version of the story up while I publish chapters for the remake. As for the future of the series post remake, maybe I'll do a story focusing on Rika and Masaru's kids or have the characters cameo in another work. Though I guess they've already cameoed in Escape Witch (which is also getting a remake) and the characters from Escape Witch have cameoed here. But for now, everyone lived happily ever after.

I think the reason many Escape Witch characters appeared is because of how much more they were fleshed out here than in their original story.
