Glad you found the world-building interesting! It means a lot to me that they aren't for naught~
The idea behind it actually came from a slightly tweaked version of the Mary's Room thought experiment of which I would present in the context of CirCular: Suppose the residents of the CirCular experienced similar phenomenon of what we come to know as "day" and "night", would they then come to know it as "day" and "night" as well?
My answer to that was "lux" and "umbra", words that the residents grown to associate to the phenomena of "day" and "night".
Magic-wise, I try to shy away from the traditional magic circles and chants and opted for a more interesting interpretation of circuits instead. As Jyn had explained, magic here is the manifestation of desired effects, anything that the user wanted to happen, as long as mana is being run through the correct circuits (Emphasis on correct, although what is considered "correct" was something the residents had to find out by trial and error)
Once again, another detail I wish you could have learnt through the chapters and not from me but there wasn't time for me to include them in for the final product...
That said, I am very curious. Which part of the story so far led you to wonder whether the CirCular world is virtual or physical?
